There are 2 options when you take your beginners diving qualification with Big Squid Option 1 ( The PADI Open Water Referral course , ideal if you are going on holiday , and want to complete your qualifying dives whilst abroad) Option 2 ( Take the complete course , knowledge development, pool dives , exam and 4 dives in the open water, here in the London area with Big Squid . PADI Open Water Referral Course with overseas completion (Option 1 )
Big Squid's PADI Open Water Referral option is ideal for those who are going on holiday and wish to avoid spending valuable leisure time inside a classroom and would rather be outdoors enjoying the sun. The pool training and academic section of the course is completed in London with Big Squid which leaves you with 4 dives in the sea to complete when you are holiday.
The course run by our highly qualified instructors is divided into 2 parts Academic Training, Classroom and independent study Confined water training ( swimming pool sessions) Course Duration independent home study ( Book and DVD) 4-5 hours One Saturday Confined water training ( swimming pool sessions) 09.00-16.30 One Sunday Academic training quizzes and exam 11.00-16.30 Pre Requisites No diving experience necessary Minimum age 15 (12 for junior divers) Be able to swim 200m non stop ( any style) Be able to tread water for 10 minutes Complete a medical form Price Includes All Academic materials , manual , Log book and dive tables , (There is a refundable £20.00 deposit required for the loan of the course DVD) All Equipment hire Air fills All swimming pool fees Location Our Luxurious private pool in Richmond and our dive centre in Clapham Evening Courses There is also a flexible evening option to complete the course which runs on Sunday and Thursday evenings in Dulwich and Battersea. Full PADI Open Water Course (Option 2 ) The course consists of the referral option as detailed above plus 4 dives in the open water which are taken over 2 days. The Open water dives are taken at Wraysbury near Windsor Completion You will receive your official PADI Open Water certification card. This card allows you to dive to 18 meters (60 ft) with a buddy. It is valid for life but frequent pool refreshers and practice pool sessions are highly recommended. Big Squid has an friendly dive club and all our students are welcome to join so they can dive with us here and abroad. Cost
